Foreign Business Language Training

When it comes to business, one of the most important criteria is the proficiency of the language that is used in conducting the business. Not only does language play an important role in a business that runs locally in a country, but it is just as important when a company goes international because if there is more than one language spoken and written in a country, what more to say if the company goes global. Therefore, it is essential that a company regardless it operating locally or internationally, a business language training course should be conducted.

When a new recruit is hired in a company, they are usually given language training. The language that is used widely as a medium of instruction would be the English language and therefore is one of the language training courses that is most commonly conducted. For example, Shell which is a well known oil and gas international company which has invested a lot of funds in making sure that all their employees are proficient in the English language both conversational and written context of the language and are given top notch language training for it.

There is no doubt that English is the more commonly used language as information transfer means that there are companies that uses their own native language as the medium of instruction. This particular information is true for companies that are located in China where they use Mandarin or Cantonese, companies located in Canada and France that uses French and the Spanish language for companies that are located at North and South America.

Once you have come to know that you will be working with a company that needs you to learn a new language, it is smart to learn the language beforehand through a proper language course. This is important because not only does it show that you are hardworking where you initiated the learning by yourself without having the company to nag you to do so but it is an advantage for you once you arrive to that country. The advantage of taking a language course beforehand is that you will already be able to read the road signs and documents as well as converse with the local people without being treated like a tourist.

The more common business language training given to employees that are about to be relocated to another country would be with French or Spanish. French courses are usually given to employees that are going to be working in Canada or at the western part of the African continent. The purpose of conducting the French courses is because French is the language that is widely used among the countries stated and these would be convenient during the transition of being there.

On the other hand, for employees being moved to North or South America or the western part of Europe, Spanish lessons would be preferred during a business language training. Spanish is the first language in many of these countries and it would be helpful to go around the town knowing some of the language already.

As a bonus, although not required, an employee may opt to take internationally recognized examinations for the French courses and Spanish lessons taken. For the French course, the examination is known as DELF while for Spanish lessons, it would be DELE.
