Put Your Car to Work

Put Your Car to Work

In large cities and communities, many people don’t own a car. Or, they only need a car to commute to work. Offer them a deal they can’t resist - something that saves them money. You can charge $50 to join and a $150 deposit refundable upon cancellation. You can also charge a daily rate of $80 for 37 miles and 15 cents per mile on top of that. Rent out your car to make some huge profits!

If you are living in an area that requires commuting, this could be an excellent way to make extra money. When driving to a large city for your job it can cost you a lot of money to commute and park every day. Instead, you can park your car in a regular spot every day that is easy to find. Rent your car out while you are busy at work. Since many times people that live in cities don’t own a car, this would be a great reason to offer your car while you are not using it. Another person could then commute to his or her job with your car, inside or outside of the city. Then if someone else wants to rent your car out from there, that person could also use your car while the first renter is working. (Make sure that the first person is aware of this though, and let them know that they won’t have to pay as much money if they are not renting the car and using it while at work.)

This will take a great deal of organizing on your part, but the time involved is well worth the money you can make. It could even save you money, because you won’t have to pay for long term parking while you are in the city working. The only down side is that you won’t have access to your car during your work hours.

You will just need to make sure that the car is always where it needs to be for each person using it, at the agreed upon time. Since you are dealing with city traffic, make sure that you allow for travel time in heavy traffic. People renting your car won’t want to wait around for the car because someone else hasn’t returned it at the proper time. This might be an issue you will want to deal with; to insure that people renting your car are time conscious. Maybe you could require them to pay the person waiting for the car a waiting fee, sort of like a fine. You might require them to pay the waiting person $1 for each minute they had to wait past the time the next person was supposed to pick up the car. This will involve good scheduling on your part. You might want to schedule the car to be parked at its pickup point 30 minutes before the next renter picks it up. This should give each driver a little extra time, just in case there is a traffic problem in the area.

Since your car is registered in your name, you will want to let your renters know that they will be responsible for incurring any parking or traffic tickets while it is in their possession. This is one of the reasons that you want to receive a deposit from each of your renters before they use your car, just in case you have a problem with them paying for their own tickets.

You can charge $50 to join and a $150 deposit refundable upon cancellation. You can also charge a daily rate of about $80 for 37 miles and 15 cents per mile on top of that. What ever you decide to charge make sure that you check around in your area, find out what the typical price is for renting a car, and try to compete with those prices. If you have a regular renter that is commuting in your car 5 days a week, you may want to give them a much better deal for their continued renting. This will mean far much less work on your part for scheduling and will assure you a constant income that you can depend on. Remember when you decide what to charge them that you won’t have to pay to park your car all day if they have your car, this could save you a lot of money.

If you choose this business idea, make sure that you have excellent insurance that will cover other licensed drivers using your car. Make sure that they also have insurance; this may be a problem though, in some parts of the U. S., you have to own a car to get insurance.

You should be able to advertise your offer in a local newspaper in the area that you will be parking your car in. You might also check with the city you are parking in and see if the city has a program that can help you find commuters that would be interested in using your car. Many big cities have terrible parking problems and should welcome this idea to relieve the congestion in their cities. You might even find out that they will be willing to supplement your decision to let others use your car while in the city, check with the city officials. Check with the company that you work for also, they may be aware of special funding from local cities and counties, which encourage your services.

Store Vehicles for Cash

Store Vehicles for Cash

Warehouses are perfect for vehicle storage. Many people want to store their vehicles. When people go on vacation, they want to make sure their vehicle is secure. Alternatively, when winter begins, antique, or show vehicle owners want to make sure their vehicle is safe from the weather. Even RV owners need somewhere to store their RV when it is not in use. With a warehouse and advertising, you are in business renting lots for $100-$500 a month.

Practically everyone has a vehicle nowadays. However, it is not that all these car-owners have any storage area for their vehicles; especially for long time storage. It is when they go on vacation that they feel the need of having some safe storage space for their vehicles. So if you can get hold of a warehouse, why not consider charging warehouse space for rent, for the storage of the car? You could charge for the rentals, while the car-owner can spend a happy vacation, without worrying about their vehicles!

It is not only the car owners going on vacation, that have a need for some storage space for their vehicles. There are some antique and show vehicle owners who want to store their cars in a safe place at the onset of winter. They want to be sure that their vehicle is safe from the cold winter. So if you have many antique and show vehicles around your area, this proves to be a good business venture!

Then there are the RV owners who use their vehicles only when they go on some vacation. They need some storage space large enough to keep their RV vehicles at times when it is not in use. So they too will need some storage space for their vehicles. So judging by the demand there is for this venture, it sure is worthwhile starting some vehicle storage space service for cash.

The main thing that you will need is a warehouse. Then with some advertisement, you can start your business. Place some advertisement in the local newspaper and you could perhaps print some pamphlets to be distributed in your neighborhood. Include your contact information, the location of the warehouse, and if possible, any testimonials from previous customers. When people learn from previous owners that it is safe storing their vehicle in your warehouse, you are bound to get more customers!

Of course, all this is not for free. You will have to charge; perhaps about $100- $500 a month. The rates depend on the cost of the vehicle being stored, and on the duration of the stay. The longer the vehicle is going to be placed there, the lower you could charge them at discounted rates. Of course, the more expensive is the vehicle, the higher you can charge, considering the risk you will be taking on storing the vehicle. This is why it is very important that you have good lock and a good security system for the warehouse. You will be taking a huge responsibility on agreeing to store someone else’s vehicles!

It is always better to have some sort of agreement on the condition of the car when you receive it for storage. You could agree that you are taking full responsibility of the car, and that you will return it to them intact, and in the condition it was when you received it. In addition, subsequently, as more and more people gain confidence in your storage facilities, the bigger will be your business!

Reverse Beeper Service

Reverse Beeper Service

Reversing into a parking spot is hard enough. It is hard to see where you are going, and you certainly have to hope no one is there unknowingly. Offer a service where you install a beeper system that beeps every time your vehicle is in reverse. I know I would feel safer with something like this, because there are children in every apartment at the complex I live at. You could charge $100 or more per installation.

Driving a car is something practically everyone does today. Even if they do not have their own cars, people will definitely know how to drive a car. Though driving a car is an easy job most of the time, sometimes it proves to be rather difficult; that is, when backing out of a parking spot. Driving in reverse itself is not that difficult; not always being able to see everything behind you, and not knowing if anyone starts walking behind the car is what makes it a difficult and dangerous endeavor. Not to mention other cars also backing up from another parking place, at the same time near you.

This is why people nowadays resort to reverse beepers where the beeper beeps when you put your vehicle in reverse. This way, even if the driver cannot see behind him, and thus not know if anyone is behind him, he or she will be able to back up knowing that the beep alerts anyone who may be near the back of the vehicle. Though this may not completely solve this problem of backing up, it makes the driver feel considerably safer, that at least the possibility of an accident occurring is reduced.

Now to install this beeper system, the expertise of a car mechanic or at least a person well trained with the installation of electrical items in vehicles is essential. Therefore, if you are either one of these people, you could very well start a business offering to install reverse beepers into peoples’ vehicles. There are many types of reverse beeper services available in the market today, producing different sounds, and beeps. Thus, the services of people who can install these reverse beepers are in great demand.

You will not need much of an investment to start this endeavor. Of course, you will need a good set of tools to install the beeper, and if possible, some space to place the car while installing the reverse beeper, a garage will do. Once you get started, your business can very well grow quickly, with the process of installation of these reverse beepers.

If you really want to get started in this business with a head start, you can design and create a marketing plan for your business. You could print a few pamphlets to distribute to car accessory shops or garages so that people visiting these places will be aware of your services. You should also get business cards printed so that you can distribute them to car dealers and garage owners. Once you establish a few customers, these customers will help with your marketing and advertising, as their referrals prove to be helpful with other people wanting to find out how to get reverse beepers installed on their vehicles.

However, one thing you have to be wary of in this business is to be as careful as possible with the installation of these reverse beepers. This is because if you are not careful, and there is a short circuit or some other problems in the car due to this installation, it can prove to be costly to repair, and a negative mark on your installation services. So maintain your installation of reverse beeper business with as much efficiency and care as possible! Customer satisfaction is ‘a must’ for a successful business!

Office Party Designated Driver

Office Party Designated Driver

Offer a service where you would transport people home from an office party when they have been drinking. You can charge a per-person fee and/or an event fee. For example, you could charge $10 per person or $200 for 20 people. There is an open market for this type of business. I do not know of any existing as yet.

Partying is something that practically everyone goes through in some form or another during their lives. Parties come in many shapes and sizes. Childhood offers parties with cakes, presents, and soft drinks. However, once people grow older, the meaning of a party is a party with food, dancing, and DRINKS!

Once a party starts, most people enjoy a drink or two, or more. Laughing, dancing, and food all cause a person to drink more than they may realize they should, if they plan to drive home. So driving home or catching a taxi after casual drinking proves to be rather difficult for some partygoers. You should start a party designated driver service.

It is not that you can offer to drive just about anyone from a party to their houses. You could work for a company, and offer to take employees of the company home after a long night of drinking. Of course, you will not offer this service free. You can either charge a company for each person driven home or offer to drive a group of people from the party to their respective homes. Charging $10 per person or $200 for 20 people is rather reasonable.

This is a relatively new field, something that is just budding, so now is a good time to get started. This is a rather lucrative business since after a long party of drinking, it proves to be rather difficult to get a cab because of two things; it usually is too late to get a cab; or the person may not be in a position to look for a cab! Therefore, instead of looking for a cab, these people will happily pay you for offering your service of taking them home safely.

Moreover, there are now many stringent rules of driving under the influence. Traffic police officers that catch a driver, who has been drinking, make them pass their ‘driving under the influence’ tests. If the driver fails, they are taken to jail and fined accordingly. Therefore, to avoid all this hassle after an enjoyable night of partying, people will more than be ready to pay you for this service!

Of course, you do not need any investment for this business. All you will need is your own car, and of course, a valid driving license. If you don’t have a car, you may as well rent a car during the stipulated time of pickup, and cover your rental charges in your charges to your customers.

You will need to advertise your services, so that partygoers (and companies hosting parties) will be aware of you. You could perhaps place some flyers on your office bulletin board, or get news of your service known to everyone through word of mouth.

Once a party in your office (and other offices) uses your service as a driver for them after their party, these members are sure to recommend your services to all future parties of the office. With this, you can be sure of getting new business for your new form of service.

Oh! An Important Tip: Remember that people that have been drinking may feel sick while riding in a car, make sure that you have some sort of container for them to use in case they do get sick. Make it clear that if they make a mess in your car that they will be held responsible for the cleaning bill, and any loss of profits.

Sell Products to Help People Save on Fuel!

Sell Products to Help People Save on Fuel!

Yes, you can make your own car fuel with apples and potatoes and a little gasoline. With a mixture of gasoline, you have just created ethanol, a fuel for your car at a cheaper price than at the pump. You can also buy and sell wood pellets from Pellet Mart. You can also resell their ethanol products. With gas prices reaching $5 per gallon and more, indeed this business is in high demand.

The prices of fuels are steadily increasing day-by-day. The rising fuel costs and cost of living has led to many of us searching for alternate forms of fuel. As a proven fact now, it is possible to make car fuel at home, with the use of apples, potatoes, and some gasoline! This mixture of gasoline and apples and potatoes helps create ethanol, which proves to be a cheaper fuel than the fuel you get at the pump.

Not only is this fuel cheap, it is a renewable fuel, which does not cause much pollution. This is because the by-products of the combustion of ethanol are only water and carbon dioxide. The usage of this ethanol makes cars run cooler and helps the car run better and faster. So if you start producing this fuel, you are sure to get many people willing to pay money for this fuel, as it is not only economical, but also does not cause much pollution.

However, to start producing this fuel on a commercial basis, it is important that you obtain permission from the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau. All you have to do is to log on to their website, wherein you fill in the application, submit it, and wait for your permit. Make this sort of fuel at home for personal use, without any permit, however, the reason a permit is required for producing fuel commercially is that the law requires a permit for commercial production and sales.

When you create ethanol for use in cars, you will find that your clients may be a bit apprehensive on whether or not their car will adapt to using this unusual type of fuel. You will then have to inform them about products like FlexEnol. Which are bi-fuel converters that when fitted on cars, makes it possible for one to use the car using either ethanol, petrol, (gasoline) or even a mixture of both.

You can also use Ethanol in diesel cars, so long as you cut it with 10% vegetable oil, to get the right lubrication factor for your car. Of course, do not forget to inform your client, there is no need for the cutting of any wires or any mechanical alterations required on the car to install a FlexEnol! It just requires connectors, which retain the original state of the car!

Another great idea to reduce fuel costs is using wood pellets for your fuel purposes. You can create wood pellets from sawdust and ground wood chips. The resins and binders that occur naturally in the sawdust is what keep the wood pellets together. Sometimes nut hulls, unprocessed shelled corn and fruit pits are used for burning in pellet stoves. It is not as easy to start producing wood pellets on a large scale to get a sizable amount of wood pellets for sale.

However, in the end, you will gain profit, as people need wood pellets for heating and cooking purposes. As wood pellets are cheaper than gas and electricity, many people opt to use it if not for cooking, at least for heating purposes. The advantage of using wood pellets in pellet stoves is that they are very efficient, and do not need a chimney. Most vent outdoors through a four-inch pipe through any wall.

So to help solve the energy crisis, why not consider starting a business of creating alternative sources of fuel. You not only solve the present energy crisis, but your financial crisis too!

Segway Tours

Segway Tours

Tourism is a wonderful market to get into. There will always be tourists and tourists love to spend money. You can sell tours to them and they get to ride on a Segway! You can charge $65 or more per person and take small groups of 5-10 people on tours. Each tour should last no longer than 2 hours.

Tourism is a wonderful market to get into. There will always be tourists and tourists love to spend money. You can sell tours to them and they get to ride on a Segway! You can charge $65 or more per person and take small groups of 5-10 people on tours. Each tour should last no longer than 2 hours.

Segways are those new two wheeled vehicles that tourists can stand on and tour without the foot pain often associated with walking tours. It takes a little time to show people how to use them, but they are the best idea for tours that could otherwise be made by walking. It is nice to be able to cover large areas of walking tours with these Segways.

If you are close to an area frequented by tourists, you can offer tours to them and they get to ride on a Segway! This will make the tour even more attractive, by offering your tours with these fun little people movers.

There are even people that would just love to learn how to use the Segway first. Offer a simple tour that helps people learn how to use a Segway and offer it for far less. Maybe you could charge $25 per person for a brief 30-minute tour that includes lessons of how to use the Segway. (Be sure to include safety tips and proper etiquette with pedestrians and large vehicles!) This would be a good opportunity for those that are not sure if they would be comfortable using a Segway on a tour. Once they experience the fun, they are sure to want a longer tour with you to follow. (Offer a discount to these new users for a tour of their choice after.)

Since you will be offering these Segways for your tours, you will need to invest in a good number of them. Depending on how many people you plan to take on your tours. Check your local area and see if you can buy or lease these fun little vehicles. They can be expensive so you will want to be prepared to spend a sizable amount of money, but the investment will be well worth it. Your tours should make it easy to enjoy a return on your investment plus!

Because you offer your tours with Segways, it will make your tours more attractive than other walking tours in the area. Sad but true, as people get older they tend to travel more, but if they have trouble walking for long periods of time it can be very difficult for them to take part on these fun tours they would otherwise miss out on.

If you decide that you want to do this, make sure that the area you are touring will allow Segways. You may have to check with local ordinances and make sure that they will allow you to have small groups of Segways on tours of the area. Usually if there are paths for bicycling, you will be able to use them. When it comes to busy city sidewalks, you may have to do some research to make sure that your tours will not cause more congestion and difficulty. You may simply be able to offer your tours at times that the sidewalks are not as busy during the day.
