How To Start A Vending Machine Business - Simple Locating Tips!

Monday, June 15th, 2009

Today I would like to give you an example of what you can use when approaching a local business in your community, to try and get a new location for your vending business.

Really what you are going to want to accomplish is to establish yourself as a vending operator that’s doing business in the local area. You will be explaining to people that you are looking to expand and build your vending business and that you want to help them by providing vending services to their company.

So let’s go through a sample script today, of what you could do and what you could say at a typical location. So let me start off by saying that what I normally do is when I go approach a location I look at a couple of things before I actually go into the business. So first I walk up to the building, let’s say I’m cold calling. I walk up to the building, the first thing that I’m going to do is, I’m going to do a little walk around the building and take a look at the parking lot.

I want to see how many cars are actually in that parking lot to get an idea of how many employees work there. Then I look at the back area of the building, is it a company that has a lot of deliveries running through the back of the building? I’m looking to see if there is alot of activity going on at the location, or is it just simply an office type environment.

Usually I like to get a good visual of the outside of the location before I go in, and get an idea of what their business is, and what goes on there. So, typically there’s two ways I go about it. And I’ll either go to the front entrance, and I’ll talk to the receptionist at the desk. Or I’ll go to the back of the building where the receiving is, and talk to one of the workers at the back.

So for example let’s say I go into the front area of the reception. The first thing that I’m going to do is go in the front and I’m going to have a business card ready, or one page flyer, or a brochure I have available for marketing my business.

I like to leave something with them so they have something that they can contact me with.

So typically I’ll walk in the location and I’ll speak with the receptionist there and say, “Hello, good morning. My name is Chris Robertson, I own a vending service company called ‘Toronto Vending Services’, and I’m actually in the area looking for new business. And I wanted to see if your company already has a vending service provider helping you or if you may be in need of a vending service provider”? So, something simple like that. Then you wait for a response from them. And they’ll either say something along the lines of, “Well, we currently have a provider”, or “I’m not really sure about that, or who takes care that. I think we have vending machines in the back.”

Once they respond to you basically what you want do from there is just say, “I provide my vending machines for free, to local businesses in the area. I’m only going be in the area today only. And so you’re creating urgency, right.

Today there is an opportunity, “I have a few machines available. And there’s an opportunity for your business to be one the businesses that I can bring in a soda machine, or pop machine, or and/or a snack machine, depending on how many employees work at your company.” So at that point you can just say, “How many employees work at the company.” And she’ll, say “Oh we have 30, 40, 50, or 100 employees”, whatever the number is. So right when you hear that number, then you can determine what vending machines will be suitable for the location and the kind of service that I you can offer them.”

This is just some of the basics for cold calling and locating.

How To Start A Vending Machine Business - Simple Vending Tips To Get You Started Today!

Tuesday, February 24th, 2009

If you are looking at starting a vending machine business then the very best way to start out is with soda vending machines. This is simply in my personal opinion the very best way. Now I have been a vending operator for over 10 years now and I do know the business very well.

When I first started I didn’t have a clue how to build my business or which way to start. I only found out by trial and error along the way. But one thing that I did find was that soda vending had great profits margins and high sales volume in a few of my accounts.

You see when people get into vending they sometime don’t know where to start. Some start with coffee vending machines others start with bulk candy vending and some start with soda and snack vending.

Here is the way I built my vending business. I started with soda machines, once I had a few of these machines on location then I bought a few snack machines. Now snack machines make good money as well but the machines are a little more costly to buy than soda machines.

So what is the big deal with the vending business anyway? Well many people are being drawn to this business as a way for them to supplement their income and make some extra money.

It is the easiest business for anyone to make a significant income with even little or no experience. As long as you are willing to learn how to do it and do some homework before you get started then you can make a huge income in vending.

The best part is that you can start off small and build up your business at your own pace. Work full or par time it’s your choice.

For me when I first started I had a full time job as a city bus driver. Then over the years I built up my business and kept it growing and growing until the point where I was able to quit my full time job and work my vending business full time.

It was by far the best move that I ever made. I was free and I loved it.

Now over the last 3 years I have been teaching and training people across the globe how to start their very own profitable vending businesses in their own local areas. I have even taught live on stage in front of over 1300 people at T Harv Eker’s Never work Again Workshop In California in December 2008.

If you are interested in getting started in the vending business my one single most important piece of advice is to get educated and do some homework first before diving in head first into the vending machine business.

It will save you a lot of time, effort and money along the way.

Make Homemade Treats for Locals

Make Homemade Treats for Locals

You may have seen them in local small stores. Treats and other goodies made by a local. Homemade foods and products made from those in your community. So, if you have an extraordinary recipe or an innovative way to make a certain product - get to it. Make plenty, and bring them to your local stores. Wrap or contain them the way you would if selling, and save some for the storeowners to taste. Hit every shop in your town, even the chain stores. Sell to your community!

When you are looking to start your own business, you should definitely consider this exciting opportunity. It is a general rule, that people love homemade treats and they will be far more likely to purchase something that is homemade, than commercially produced. I will use myself as an example, I love caramel, just simply love it. The only problem is, it has to be soft and chewy, have you purchased caramel at a store lately and noticed how hard it is? We have to actually place the commercial caramel into the microwave for a few seconds to soften it up.

A few years ago, I was at my local gas station and while paying for gas, I noticed a nice basket along side the cash register. This basket was full of homemade treats and goodies, neatly displayed and each type wrapped attractively in wax paper, with the name of each one handwritten on a white sticker. I noticed a caramel, I bought one, and it was the best caramel I had ever had. Not only was it good, but it was soft and just melted in my mouth. Needless to say - I went back and bought more and more and more.

Now if you are good in the kitchen and have a knack for baking or making sweets, this could be the ideal business venture for you. It does not have to be an expensive thing at first, you can simply make what you want, wrap it up in wax paper, or clear wrap and sell it. You do not have to make it fancy, because trust me, people absolutely love homemade treats. You will find yourself having to keep up with the demand.

Now do not think you are limited to caramel? You are by no means limited to anything. Let your creative side flow, you can create candy, fudge (of many different types), cookies, brownies, and cakes (of many different types). All you simply have to do is spend a day or two in the kitchen, doing what you do best and you will have no problems in selling your yummy items.

As stated earlier, you do not have to spend a great deal of money in making the items. You can just wrap them and go, however, if you wanted to you could become creative with your packaging. Try using different color wrapping or ribbon to make the package look a bit more attractive. You can simply write the price and type on a label or make it neater by printing the label on your computer. One thing you will definitely want to do is put your business name, address, and telephone number on the item (or URL). This will tempt people to contact you when they need something special or just simply want more.

To market your products, place them in a nice basket (it does not have to be big, but room enough to hold your products) and visit the local storeowners in your town. Visit all of the gas stations, convenient stores, and even major chain establishments. Make sure you bring a sample of your product for them to try. If you convince them you have a wonderful product, they will be more willing to test and display it. Offer samples for your customers also, once they taste a sample they will likely buy more!

Mail Order Teas

Mail Order Teas

Tea and coffee are two of the most popular beverages found in the world today. However, of the two, tea is the preferred choice since this drink not only helps you start your day off with a boost, but it also has many health related advantages too. In fact, statistics show that tea is today the second most popular beverage, after water. Make and sell your teas from your home and even create your own teas!

People love tea, but only if they have a wide variety of teas to choose from. Tea has antioxidants that help prevent diseases and boost one’s immune system. Tea is quite healthy and the second most consumed beverage, (water being the first). The key is to offer a wide variety of teas; otherwise, your sales will not be as high as you want them to be.

Tea is a drink that has antioxidants that help in the prevention of diseases. It is also said that the regular drinking of tea helps in boosting the immune system of a person. So, looking at the various benefits teas offer, and its popularity, it should prove to be rather beneficial for you to start a service of selling mail order teas from your home.

Though many people love tea so much, it is better for you to offer a wide variety of teas for the prospective buyer to choose from. You can start making different types of tea from your home, and in the process, create new teas. Mixing a few ingredients and spices will come up with new flavors of tea. However, make it a point to try out these teas before you actually place them in the market for selling. Otherwise, you may sell tea that proves to be impossible to drink! You could also offer preparation and serving suggestions for these various flavors of tea, as some teas have to be drunk black, some with sugar or honey, and some with cream or milk.

You will have to create a website stating the different types of tea you offer with their ingredients and prices. You could also add some articles on the benefits and plus points of drinking tea. If possible, get testimonials from people who have enjoyed your tea and place them on the website. There are many people who make their final decision on whether or not to buy a product on the internet after reading these testimonials.

The secret to an increased business of people buying tea from you will be by creating as many types and varieties of tea as possible. This is because people are eager and ready to taste different types of teas and to find out the benefits different teas offer. Besides creating a website, it proves to be beneficial to create pamphlets explaining your varieties of teas and prices, for increased sales.

Print pamphlets containing the same information on them as on the website. Make it a point to include your contact information too. Then you can distribute these pamphlets in shopping centers and local stores where tea is commonly sold. After reading these pamphlets, you will find an increased number of people who will be interested to try out your varied mail order teas.

Once you have a steady flow of customers, you might as well expect many repeat customers who repeatedly order tea from you. In addition, the publicity from these customers about your new tea varieties should be sufficient for your business to flourish in a matter of time.

Make sure that you carry organically grown teas to choose from for those that are particular about the sources of their foods. Organic honey is also something that you might want to offer your customers too.

Remember to offer various types of teapots, teacups, mugs, traditional tea sets, flavored sugars, infusers, and typical English biscuits that are popular with tea drinkers also. I am especially fond of tea-flavored candies that are often popular too!

Everyday There is not a day that goes by in which another small home-based business is not launched! This is like a rocket ship that is taking off into the stratosphere of the business world. Did you know that a good portion of the products and services purchased are provided by someone who owns a small home business? A good many people who have been laid off, fired from or simply downsized out of their current job or profession; and have started their own business instead. There is another reason that so many people are stepping into home business ownership; and that is that they are looking to make a different life for themselves or just change the current path that their lives are taking. Are you currently working in the fashion industry as a designer or photographer and you would much rather be doing the same thing you are doing now only doing it for yourself.

This can be accomplished, if you are willing to work hard to build a reputation and strong customer base. This is the key to success is building a good solid list of customers or clients that you are willing to work with and who have faith in you and your services. If you are really looking to completely change your life around; why not go into a completely different line of work altogether? Popcorn on the Cob

Popcorn on the Cob

Eating is a pastime most people enjoy; whatever the occasion, whatever the season; people are always ready to eat. People not only like fast foods and multi-cuisine, there are snacks that people like and appreciate; more so in fairs and circuses. So providing some snacks to people in fairs and circuses proves to be a great business, and one worth adapting.

Instead of offering the normal snacks like hot dogs, chips and burgers, try something novel like popcorn on the cob. Of course, popcorn is often eaten buttered, sweetened, salted, cheesed, and other popular flavors added. But, why not offer something else; like popcorn on the cob. This is a great idea from the past; people will be willing to try it out, in curiosity, to find out what it is like.

It was many ages back that Native Americans popped and ate popcorn on the cob - and it was eaten directly from the cob. This is a wonderful taste; you could add some butter, salt, pepper, chili powder, lime; the choice is limitless to offer your customers a little something extra with their popcorn on the cob.

Of course, you cannot offer popcorn on the cob wherever you want; offer it in open public places, as you have to cook the corn on a stove or charcoal pit. You do not need a huge investment for this venture; it is best to have a charcoal pit; as the taste is better this way and it is cheaper to prepare it. If this is not possible, then of course you will need a stove or other medium to fry the corn directly on the cob. There is no need to have any dishes; you can have paper plates to give your customers their corn on the cob. Then of course, you need some spices to add to the corn to enhance the taste too.

Because corn is a nutritious, fragrant, and tasty food, most people love eating it. It provides the necessary fiber a person needs, and is nutritious too. Moreover, eating popcorn on the cob provides a measure of exercise to the jaws and teeth. In fact, people with false or weak teeth should not eat popcorn on the cob, as it may be rather difficult for them to eat!

Unlike other businesses, there is no need of any marketing or advertisement for this job. This opportunity flourishes through word of mouth, smell, and sight. There is bound to be many curious onlookers and others following their noses to the wonderful fragrance of the corn popping. You could print a few pamphlets, and place them in strategic places of the fair or circus, so that people visiting these amusements will be aware of your stall and unusual item to offer.

Maintain the best hygiene and cleanliness in your business. As this is an open-air business, if you do not offer clean surroundings, you will only lose customers. Make sure you place your stall in a clean area too, where there are not many insects or pests to disturb you.

Be prepared to be a very popular stand no matter where you set up. The wonderful fragrance of the corn cooking will draw people to you!
