Holidays in the greek island of Rhodes

Sunday, June 28th, 2009

Plenty of places around the world offer various attractions for the holidaymaker. Some destinations are renowned for their hotels, some for their beaches, some for their ancient buildings and so on. One place that offers a lot of different attractions is the mediterranean island of Rhodes. Rhodes is a perfect place for enjoying your free time with your family members and friends. There are several excellent hotels in Rhodes that make your visit to this delightful island memorable. If you are tired of your daily routine and need to get away from it all, with your family or friends or even on your own, then Rhodes is a great selection. Why not check out the last minute holidays in Rhodes, so you can enjoy your Rhodes holiday at a bargain price.

The problem is mainly which resort to base yourself in and which hotel to select. Historical sites on Rhodes include the Acropolis of Lindos, the Acropolis of Rhodes, the Temple of Apollo, ancient Ialysos, ancient Kamiros, the walled medieval city of Rhodes Old Town, the castle ruins at Monolithos, St. Catherine Hospice and the castle at Kritinia. Rhodes offers a feast of bars, tavernas and restaurants with a choice of everything from burgers to British speciality cuisines, not forgetting the old fashioned Greek Taverna cuisine. The island also offers night clubs, disco’s and a casino for those who like to burn the midnight oil. The main resorts for nightlife are Faliraki, Rhodes Town and Lindos.

A peaceful Rhodes holiday town is Kolymbia, which is a idyllic place between mountains and the sea. Kolymbia is a sun-drenched spot with a fine beach for watersports, a few shops and an abundance of peace and quiet. If you’re looking for any or all of these for your holidays, Kolymbia Rhodes is the answer. Positioned behind an arc of sand and shingle beach, this unhurried, uncrowded resort is a bit of a paradox. For typical Greek island holidays, it attracts a multinational bunch of sun-seekers. Hotels have been thoughtfully planned to fit seamlessly into the landscape with informal swimming pools dotted through palm sprinkled gardens, but these same unwinding grounds are home to a great range of sport and leisure activities too, and the choice of hotels bring quality, comfort and style to laid-back little Kolymbia.

Holidays in Kolymbia will lull you into the slow tempo. With evening entertainment in your hotel together with a sprinkling of bars and tavernas for traditional greek food and conversation. Adults looking for something superb would love the Atlantica Imperial Resort Kolymbia with its spacious rooms, alluring pools and outdoor dining terrace. All-inclusive holidays in Kolymbia are available at the Atlantica Aegean Blue Kolymbia which gives superb value for families who plan to take advantage of the facilities on offer.

You Can Do A Reverse Cell Lookup With A New Service

Sunday, June 28th, 2009

Tracing cell phone numbers is a great way to get private information. It can be very helpful if you want to stop a stalker from stalking you and your family, find information on a phone number that’s ripped you off, or catch a cheating spouse.

So, what I’m going to do is share with you a way to trace cell phone numbers using cell phone listings. That way, you will be able to get confidential information you need on any specific cell number.

When tracing a cell number, you’re going to need the entire number. This means you will need the area code, as well as the 7-digit cell phone number. If you’re unable to get a hold of the entire number, you won’t be able to get a web based reverse cell number lookup for it.

The next thing you’re going to need if you want to trace cell phone numbers is a reverse lookup directory. Now, there are free sites that you can use. But you can only get information from them if the number you’re using is a listed landline.

If the number is unlisted or a cell phone number, you’re going to have to use the paid directory. The fee is small. It’s not expensive. And the information they provide is accurate. Which is important if you’re tracing a cell phone number.

Now, when you’re at the internet cell phone reverse phone number lookup directory site, you will need to type in the number and click the search button. After that, the directory will do its job and retrieve all the information that will help you.

Creating Beautiful Precious Bedding

Saturday, June 27th, 2009

In some parts of the world, a second bed sheet is placed on top of the sheet that covers the mattress. This second sheet is referred to as a “top sheet.” When this top sheet is put in use, the sheet directly on the mattress is referred to as a “bottom sheet.” A sleeper lies between the two sheets. Blankets, comforters, and any additional bed covers are put above the second bed sheet.

When I shop for new sheets I always look for the ones with a thread count of at least 300. What the thread count determines is the comfort of the fabric. A good rule of thumb is that the higher the thread count number, the softer the sheets will be. How many of us at some time or another have slept on scratchy sheets or those that are so thin you can almost see through them. We spend a long time asleep during out lifetime so it’s really important to make our sleeping experience as pleasant as possible. That is what bed sheets are like.

Unfortunately, buying sheets is not quite as easy as it used to be or should be. You may go to a store wanting plain white cotton sheets but end up so confused because you have so many different types of cotton, that you may go home with the wrong one (in most cases) or end up buying something you don’t want. This is what twin sheets are like.

Bed sheets have historically been white, but in modern times many different colors and patterns are available. The quality of bed sheets is often conveyed by the thread count. The thread count is the number of threads per square inch of bed sheet material. Usually, the higher the thread count, the softer the sheet is. Common materials used in making sheets are cotton, linen, blends of cotton / polyester, silk, wool, rayon, and others.

Cotton is by far the most popular material because it is snuggly in the winter and cool in the summer (although they have to be warmed up in the winter first). There’s just something about sinking into a bed with high quality cotton sheets. In addition to being comfortable, manufacturers tend to produce them in more styles and colors (than other sheet types) to keep up with the consumer demand. This is what waterbed sheets are like. What about you? Are you a cotton person or silk? Do you want a frivolous thread count, or will 250 do? Think about your options carefully before you shop for bed sheets and then enjoy your choice.

Making Customer Satisfaction Surveys Work

Saturday, June 27th, 2009

Why should you bother?

Good customer service is the life blood of any business. Although new customers are very important good customer service will help generate customer loyalty and repeat business. With every satisfied customer your business is likely to go on and secure many more customers through recommendations and if you do not take proper care of your customers there is probably a competitor waiting in the wings that will.

A customer satisfaction survey will demonstrate to your customers that you care and are proactive in looking for ways to improve the service that you provide.

Where to start?

Objective - As a first step decide what the main objectives of the survey are, in that way you will be able to retain focus and find it easier to decide what questions to ask.

Analysis - In addition to the objectives consider how you will analyse the answers having completed the survey.

Keep in mind that ‘closed’ questions (where a respondent is asked to choose from a limited number of responses) are much easier to analyze than ‘open’ questions (where the respondent can reply in anyway they want).

A lot will depend on the likely volume of respondents, the higher the volume the more important it is to have an easy method of analysing the results.

Opportunity – Keep in mind that as well as obtaining valuable market research data customer surveys are also a good way to publicise aspects of your service that your customers may not be aware of.

It is important that before you publish the survey that you check that the questions you have asked will provide you with market research data that when analyzed will help you make informed decisions.

Then, read through the survey from a marketing view point, check that you have phrased each question so that every opportunity has been taken to promote your business?

The ideal question will perform the following three functions:-

  • Market research - provide valuable feedback to help you improve your customer satisfaction levels and in turn your business
  • Marketing - promote aspects of your business
  • Information/Education - advertise a service that you provide that your customers may not have been unaware of

For example:- Do you find the in-store baby changing facilities useful?

By asking this question not only will the store receive good market research feedback on the facility they provide but they will also promote their facilities and advertise themselves as a family friendly store, even beyond those customers who have a specific need for the baby changing facility that has been provided.

Warts and all – be prepared to accept criticism.

A customer satisfaction survey should be designed to highlight problems so that they can be addressed; regular customer satisfaction will prevent complacency and will also give early warning on where your competitors initiatives may be losing you business.

What are the questions you should ask?

Although each business is likely to have specific and unique factors that are important in providing good customer services there are common areas that are relevant to all businesses be they a physical store, online internet store or a service industry. The following are key areas to providing good customer service.

Communication - Is it easy for your customers to communicate with you?

When a customer telephones is their call answered promptly; are enquiries about products or services handled properly? A good business will make every effort to ensure that whatever the customers query it is resolved by the right person, politely, quickly and fairly.

If a problem cannot be resolvable immediately do you promise to respond in a given time period and do you deliver on your promise?

Use a customer satisfaction survey to ensure that all your staff are considered by your customers to be courteous, helpful and knowledgeable.

Location – Do your customers find it easy to visit you, if a physical bricks and mortar store, is it conveniently located with good access?

Making it pleasant, making it easy - For a virtual business it is important to ensure that your website is easy to use and aesthetically pleasing.

Regardless of the store being a bricks and mortar or purely an online internet store, is the store properly laid out, can your customers find what they need and is there sufficient information and help on hand to explain how a particular product works?

The right quality products – In addition to measuring the quality of the service that you provide you should ensure that the products and services that you provide do in fact match your customers’ requirements.

Value for money – Cheap or expensive is rarely a good measure, value for money is.

Do your current customers consider your services as value for money, if not, why not?

Speed and attention – The majority of customers will want to be dealt with quickly but attentively.

Are you doing everything to prevent any delays?

Good businesses will try to treat each customer as an individual, does yours? Attention is important but so is a quick and satisfactory resolution of the query.

Demographics and Specific issues – Take the opportunity to profile your customers, for example what is their age group and where do they live?

Understand your customers more and you will be able to better target your business.

Within the survey encourage customers to highlight any problems and provide contact details so that their concerns can be investigated and followed up.

What next?

Once the survey has been completed analyse the results.

Trends – Identify common and specific areas where the service needs improving.

Ask yourself honestly if any criticism that you receive is valid and if there anything that can be done to resolve or minimise the problem?

Training – Are all employees properly trained and do they have sufficient knowledge?

Where staff training programmes have been implemented have they had a positive impact on the business?

Follow-up – If a customer has raised a specific issue through completing a survey ensure that they are contacted and that their complaint is properly addressed.

Do not lose a customer by squandering an opportunity to resolve a problem.

Continuously Monitor - Based on the survey results make changes and then re-measure by issuing further surveys.

If you are concerned about customer satisfaction and would like to view a sample survey for a store that will demonstrate some of the above advice please view the Sample Customer Survey

How to choose a Hammock

Saturday, June 27th, 2009

Most everyone loves the idea of relaxing in their backyard or campsite on a hammock.  But selecting the correct hammock for your use can be a bit challenging.  Hammocks come in a wide variety of sizes, types and materials which are suited for different uses.  For example, the material could be cotton, polyester or canvas.  While the cotton hammock is most suited for indoor use and occasional outdoor use, the polyester hammock will stand up to almost any weather conditions with no problem.  The cotton rope hammock is generally the most popular although the rope does not wear well over time if exposed to the constant outdoor environment.  From personal use, I’ve always found the polyester hammocks can be bit warm during hot summer days.  The rope hammocks allow a soft breeze to flow over your entire body.

Another consideration is the amount of space you have to dedicate to your new hammock.  If planning for use on a deck or patio, you might consider the new hammock chairs or swings.  Although the hammock chairs are not as comfortable as the standard rope hammocks, they offer the ease of hanging from a single rope and take up much less space.  All true hammock chairs are made to be hung from an overhead support.  Many times a porch roof beam or overhang will do the job.   But as popularity has grown, some manufacturers have created stand-alone hanging systems which enable you to move your hammock chair into more open areas. They are also much more stable and might be a good option for use by children or the elderly.

If your deck is large enough, you might consider using a full size hammock installed in a hammock stand.  Hammock stands might be made of wood or steel.  The wood hammock stands offer a great durable and classy option and contributes to the overall appearance of your hammock.  The drawback as you might expect is generally the wood hammock stand are a bit more expensive.  It is easy to find package deals which includes hammock and stand.  This of course makes the selection process a bit easier.

Using eBay Auctions for School Fundraising

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

Everyone is getting on the bandwagon. Large institutions successfully use eBay auctions to offload leftover stock, the Postal Service rids itself of unclaimed merchandise, police departments sell confiscated goods. Thousands of nonprofits are doing business with eBay.

Are eBay auctions the fundraiser’s cash cow or are the dangling cash-carrots never quite reachable?

There you have both ends of the online auction spectrum. Likely, your organisation’s ability to generate donations in this fashion lies somewhere in between, hopefully toward the high end. Merely registering an account with eBay doesn’t guarantee that sellers will be prompted to donate part of an item’s selling price to your group. Or that buyers will gobble up your items. Philanthropically minded people are only beginning to see online auctions as a serious avenue of charitable giving.

Successfully trading on eBay is far more than a mechanical process. You’ll need staff and/or volunteer commitment, and sales and marketing know-how. It takes little skill to get on the bandwagon; it takes a lot not to fall off.

There are several main reasons to use eBay as part of your overall fundraising plan. Not because its the cool thing to do. Not because it takes the place of person-to-person campaigning.

But because:
* EBay enables your group to reach a huge, new market of non-constituents, uncultivated strangers who will immediately participate in funding your projects by buying your items.

*You can fit a few hundred people in an in-house auction room, but you can reach millions online.
*You’ll capture new prospects. A percentage of buyers will turn out to be donors to future campaigns if your follow-through is sound. Otherwise, why not simply run an online membership auction from your organisation’s web site?
* It’s cost effective. No space to rent, tickets to sell, caterers to hire, and so on.
* Its novelty will captivate volunteers who are used to performing the same campaign tasks year after year.

How you can capture a profitable share of this new market depends on the sales direction you take, the items you offer, how they’re presented, and your game plan.

Direct and Community Selling
You’ll obviously receive the most income and acquire the most new prospects if your group uses donated items to auction. For nonprofits, eBay terms this “Direct Selling.” It’s the same technique used by organisations that produce in-house, live auctions by soliciting in-kind gifts.

“Community Selling” is a term eBay uses to describe the process whereby sellers designate all or part of the selling price to an organisation. This offers your present donors new opportunities to support your drive.

For example, the Smith’s annual gift is $125. Your latest newsletter describes and promotes the benefits to the campaign from members selling unwanted items on eBay. The Browns’ decide that two 17″ hand painted platters are items they haven’t used for years. They list them on eBay at $19.95 each and designate your group to receive 80% of the selling price.

The remaining 20%, they figure, will take care of shipping. The platters each sell for $25. You have an additional donation from the Browns of $40. If 99 other present donors did the same you’d have an additional $4,000 on top of their cash gifts. And what about the members who couldn’t afford to give you cash donations? Surely, many of them would find an item or two to sell on eBay on your behalf. So, you see, the potential for raising funds through eBay is real, but eBay is only the vehicle, not the driving force. Selling the concept is the organisation’s job.

What Items to Offer?
While it’s been shown that many non-constituent eBay buyers react favorably to knowing that proceeds of a sale are helping fund a nonprofit organisation, their interest is driven by an item’s appeal, not necessarily an organisation’s mission.

People will buy anything, especially when they think they’re getting a deal. Last time I looked, a set of 10 real cattle teeth was about to be auctioned for $7.99. But since you’re in the serious business of raising money, not running online garage sales, offering genuine collectable teeth will do little to help fund your annual budget. Stay away from trinkets when soliciting direct selling items if possible. However, memorabilia is a natural for online auctions.

The more your items play to a universal audience the more they’ll be seen, and the higher the selling price. For example, a vintage Cowboy type belt buckle from a city in Arizona could sell to a local organisation member or be even more valuable to an Australian outback buyer.

Most everything sells on eBay, but collectibles have always been big sellers, also electronics in all categories, music, books and games. Everyone has a few old books and CDs lying around that you can convert to cash by selling them on ebay. And certainly one-time, high profile items with special appeal, like seats in a corporate box at a big game. Or a trip to the Barrier Reef.
