How to Profit from Google Adsense

Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

If you are a webmaster, then you may have heard about Google’s Adsense program from another happy webmaster earning thousands of dollars from it. I was one of the happy webmasters that found the Adsense program to be a great source of revenue. You are either thinking, what in the world is Adsense, or how in the world can I successfully profit from it?

To answer the first part of this question, Adsense is a program that allows webmasters to place ad links on their Web sites and earn money when their visitors click on ad links. There are lots of companies that offer similar clickable advertising that will pay you to be on your website. Adsense is pretty cool because it makes sure that the ad links that appear on your web sites are related to your site’s content. How much you earn from the advertising links program depends on two things:

* Number of clicks to your ad links
* Value of these links

Now you are probably holding onto your chair and yelling, “I want to know how to profit from advertising web links!”

Ok, are you ready? Do not let go of that chair or you might fall you!

To profit from Adsense (or any of the other ad link programs), you must master these three important key factors:

* Keywords
* Content-Content-Content!
* Traffic

Keywords and Content: These two factors determine what types of Adsense Ad links will appear on your Web site. If you do not do this research correctly, then ad links that are not related to the content may appear on your Web site and the percentage of ad link clicks will decrease. Remember that certain keywords have higher value than other keywords and to get higher revenue. When you write your content, you need to focus on using similar keywords.

For example, if your Web site is about dating, you would focus on using keywords like “dating” or “love”. One secret to getting your visitors to click on your ad links are to build content on topics that really interest you and your visitors. Focus on your target market.

Traffic: Knowing where your traffic or Web visitors are coming from is also one of the most important factors. The more targeted traffic that flows to your Web site, the more clicks you will receive, and the more revenue you will make. This is where most webmasters will focus their efforts on.

Traffic Secrets: Try to get most of your traffic from search engines because this is where you get most of your high quality traffic. If you cannot do this, you can always get your hands on Expired Domain Traffic that you can purchase from suppliers who have the high ranked Web sites. If you do not know how to get your site ranked high in search engines, there are thousands of free online resources out on the web. You can also hire a search engine optimization guru, because it will be worth it in the end.

Mistakes to avoid:

* Do not create Web sites only for the purpose of putting Adsense ad links on your site! Why? Google has a way of knowing this and they clearly state that if you have this type of Web site, they will ban you.
* Do not click on your own links because this will also get you banned.
* Once you’ve been banned from the Adsense program, they will never let you back in.

Remember, while AdSense is one of the easiest to use Pay Per Click programs out there, there are plenty of others that you can also take advantage of with a little research and time spent setting them up. Using ad click links can earn you a very good income.

The Honest Truth About Affiliate Earning - What Every Affiliate Marketer Should Know!

Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

If you want to become an affiliate marketer who has a huge presence on the Internet and in your niche, then you have to be very aggressive and you also need to know certain techniques and methods that are working for others.

Selling someone else’s product is the best way to start doing business online because it takes all the hard work of creating a product away from you as well as the idea of dealing with customer support.

Affiliate Marketing on the Internet

You do have to have some type of web presence such as a blog or squidoo lens or simple review page to be able to drive traffic and get results. If you create Google Adwords Campaigns (which I would not suggest for a newbie, until they learn the ropes), then you have to create a sales page or information page to send the traffic to.

You would set up your own email contact opt-in list form to capture the email addresses of your visitors and don’t leave that up to the product owner to do. This is important because you will be able to follow up and also sell other similar products to these same people.

You can even create your own monthly newsletter and provide additional and valuable information to your prospects to gain their trust.

An affiliate marketer’s role is important to the product owner because of the reach that many people have across the internet compared to just one product owner selling his or her product and trying to get all the targeted traffic to the website.

This is why Clickbank came into play. Clickbank saw the need to have a portal where product owners could position their products for affiliates to find different products in different niches and I think that was genius. I wish I had taught of the concept myself. Paydotcom has copied the concept as well, but Clickbank dominates the Affiliate marketplace. Learn More About Clickbank Affiliate Programs at Affiliate Marketing on the Internet.

When these visitors make a purchase, the owners of the sites pay the Affiliate for generating the sale. Affiliate Marketers are the people who drive the Internet Marketing industry. Making money online wouldn’t be as easy if there wasn’t such thing as an Affiliate Program where people can sign up and start selling products online in minutes.

Choosing the right product to sell depends on the keyword search that you have done and your findings. It is good to find a niche and stick to it. Write articles, blog posts, and forum posts to gain access to the people that are searching for those keyword phrases.

To dominate your niche, you will need to know about your niche audience and the best place to hang out for that is in the forums that are specific to that niche.

If you want to learn how to become a super affiliate in less time, then I highly recommend the Affiliate Earning Resource Tool Here at Affiliate Marketing on the Internet..

How to Create Custom Scrapbooks for People and Make Money

Saturday, September 13th, 2008

Scrapbooking has become one of the biggest hobbies in America and overseas!  It’s become so popular that scrapbook supply stores have been popping up on the streets, online - everywhere!  There are so many different things that you can do with a scrapbook; there is no telling where you could begin or stop!  I have gotten into it myself (creating scrapbooks for my two daughters).  Let me tell you, I am far from a crafty artsy-type, person.  However, once I got those albums, stickers, pens, brads, and everything else in my hands, I was instantly hooked!  I absolutely love it and my kids love seeing their pictures and memories put together in their own creative books.  It’s a fantastic hobby, and it’s just so much fun.  I especially love the rub-on stencils.  What a great invention!

Oh, yes, you’re interested in starting a business.  I told you about my excitement with scrapbooking to let you know how widespread this hobby is and how overly addictive it can be.  It is just a wonderful thing to be able to preserve your children’s memories and pass them down when they are old enough to take care of them.  However, it doesn’t just stop there.  There are so many different themes a scrapbook can take.

Some include:

1. School Days
2. Weddings
3. Religious Ceremonies
4. Remembrance
5. Birthdays
6. Sports
7. College
8. Scouting
9. Traveling
10. Careers
11. Seasonal

There are so many more, I couldn’t even list them all.  It is just a matter of what someone wants to preserve with a scrapbook.  It’s much more fun and creative than a simple photo album.  It combines arts and crafts with photography.  The possibilities are endless.

If you sound like you would love to do this, find your local scrapbooking store (I’m sure there is one, otherwise you can search online), and see what is out there.  It’s amazing.  There is such a variety of supplies and it is overwhelming if you are new to this hobby. Speak to others who like to scrapbook, talk to your local storeowner, chat with others online in appropriate forums, and chat rooms.  See what your potential competitors are doing, and how well they are doing.

Since this is such a widespread hobby and is so vast, there is a variety of businesses you could spawn.  One is creating scrapbooks for those who can’t find the time.  Not only would this be fun (if you find you enjoy it), but you would be paid for it, too!  Creating precious memories in a scrapbook for someone can be quite the fulfilling career.

Some other businesses you could think about are:

Creating Supplies
Inventing new supplies
Opening your own supply store
You could specialize in creating only certain supplies (stickers, stencils, paper, etc.)

The list could go on-and-on.  Have fun with it!  Here are some websites where you can begin your research:

Create and Sell Incense with a Geographical Twist

Saturday, September 13th, 2008

Some people have traveled or used to live in different countries. Create scents that mimic the smells of each country. You can sell packages of 20 for $20.

Incense is commonly used today with great fervor and interest in all parts of the world. Incense is today a part of aromatherapy; certain scents are used to provide treatment for different ailments and conditions. It is a well known fact that some scents provide relaxation and tranquility for some people, in using this principle, you can create unique incense scents enjoyed and introduce new ones that will always be in demand once known by many.

Different countries have their own particular traditions, work, food, and popular spices and fragrances. These are typical smells of the people in the country, the common work places in different regions, the smells of vehicles and bakery smells etc., which set that country aside from other countries. So, you could actually collect oils and herbs from a particular country and create common scents mimicking that country. After smelling each scent, people will feel as if they are really traveling or living in that country.

Many people have traveled or perhaps lived in different countries for different reasons. So let them relive the moments they had spent in those countries by creating these incense having a geographical twist in them. There is no point in selling this incense for too high a price; somewhere between $20 for about 20 a package is a rather reasonable rate. With such a rate, you can be sure of people buying your incense. Too high a rate and the price will make people think twice about investing in your incense!

Creating incense is a meditative and enjoyable way for you to exercise your creativity. You just have to create exotic fragrances with which you will be able to ease the troubles of the day, purify the indoor space you have and relax. When creating incense, you have to powder the ingredients, powder by using a mortar and pestle or coffee grinder. However, electric coffee grinders are not suggested for use because the heat they produce leads to loss of chemicals in the ingredients. It is better if you freeze your resins for about 15 minutes before pulverizing, as it then gets easier to powder or ground the resins.

In the beginning, use incense mixtures with only three ingredients, perhaps a wood and two herbs. With experience, you can increase the ingredients. You will have to first powder herbs and wood and then mix it with the resin mixture, then grind these two mixtures together to create the required incense. The mixture then should be left to age for a couple of weeks. To make incense pellets, you have to add resins that help mold pellets like labdanum and even dry fruits. To make incense cones and sticks, add gum Arabic or tragacanth used to bind the sticks or cones.

You can find all the necessary ingredients on the internet. Of course, you will need some original investment for this business. However, in the process as you create incense that people like, use, and will buy, you will find that this is indeed a great business to invest in and generate a source of income.

How to Write for Newspapers

How to Write for Newspapers

Freelance writing for newspapers is quite different than writing for magazines and websites. Freelance writers for newspapers are often called “stringers”. The newspaper’s editor will often keep stringers for regular, consistent assignments, or as an on-call basis to fill in when needed: when staff writers call in sick, or during work overloads.

Newspaper writing is usually considered journalistic in style, unless you are writing a column or editorials. Your articles will have to be journalistic, basically meaning that they will be newsworthy and free from any of your own opinions. The articles must contain factual information and interview quotes from relevant experts or others in connection with the story. Most newspaper articles will usually need to have the latest pertinent studies, statistics and other research information.

How to Get Started:

1. Before you start contacting newspaper editors, you will want to make sure you can show them you have what it takes. Start searching your files and notebooks for nonfiction, journalistic style articles, if you don’t already have any. If these are saved on your computer, print them up on some clean, white, standard paper. They should be at least 12 point font sized, Times New Roman and double-spaced for easy reading. Organize your articles neatly in a binder or folder of some type that is plain, solid-colored and professional looking. This is what you will take with you when you get a face-to-face interview with a newspaper’s editor. Maybe you would also like to take some business cards as well that include all of your contact information.

You don’t have any articles to show? No need to worry! Just start writing some journalistic article samples. Vary the topics a little to show that you can write on different topics. The editor might see a topic that sticks out, and he’ll ask you to write for that section of the newspaper! In your physical portfolio, you should have at least 10 to 15 articles for the editor to skim through, even if some or all are not published. It doesn’t matter. He’ll just want to see what you can write, examine your writing style, etc.

2. Get ready to start contacting editors. Create a standard query to send to each editor in your local area, but don’t forget to change the name and other information when you send them! Your proposal to become a stringer should be a professional, standard letter format with your name and contact information at the top, their business name, editor’s name and contact information below yours, and then the date. You begin with “Dear ‘Editor’” and conclude with “Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you”. You can vary the conclusion, but always say thank you.

Sell yourself and your writing skills in this, just as you would with a magazine’s query letter. If you are just starting out, take as much care with it as you do when applying for your dream job. Ask if they have any available positions for stringers or freelancers. Make sure you include your home and cell phone, as some editors like to respond via phone.

You are now armed and ready to send out those queries to your local newspapers! Give it a month or so, and if you don’t have any luck with them, start sending them to others nearby - as far as you are willing to travel. The more you send, the better of a chance you have in landing at least an interview or two. Soon, you’ll be writing for a newspaper!

How to Start a Niche Writing Business - What Kind of Writing is Best for You?

So, you want to be a writer? The real question is, what kind of writer do you want to be? What do you want to write about? Where does your passion for writing come from? I have been told by numerous writers that there was something in their childhood that sparked their interest in writing. Nearly every professional writer has always wanted to be a writer. However, there are many choices!

For example, I began my freelance writing career writing essays. Then I wrote a newspaper article. Since then, I have written numerous magazine articles, web articles, EBooks, video game reviews, a press release, business plans, and more. My niche isn’t as varied as it seems. I write to inform and teach. They all somewhat tie into each other. I am also an Editor, and a Ghostwriter. You don’t have to choose just one niche. You are probably qualified and may want to do more than one. However, you should be aware of the variety of writing categories at your hand. This way, you can find out which ones catch your eye, and peak your interest. You can experiment with different types of writing to find that one that works for you- something you are good at, and enjoy writing. Testing out your skills can be frustrating in the beginning, but it is worth it to find the type of writing that is best suited for you.
