Preemie Profits

Parents have enough stress dealing with their beloved little preemie. Preemies usually need more care than the typical newborn and newborns need a lot of special care. Trying to clothe a preemie can just be another added stress for the family. Offer items for those that find themselves unexpectedly dealing with this worry.

These sweet little ones can be so small that a newborn size item can be too large for them. This would be a wonderful area to look into and provide the items that are commonly needed when caring for a little preemie. A baby that weighs just a few pounds has very little body fat, so they end up swimming in the typical newborn sizes of clothing. Be sure to offer very soft, practical items as well as cute items. They often need soft little caps that can keep their heads warm too, so be sure to make these available also. You might even offer soft designed hats with their names on them, since while they are in the hospital it may be all they are allowed to wear until they come out of their little incubators. These cheerful little hats could be good for everyone working with and visiting the new little one.

In order to be a successful ‘business idea’ it would be best to make your business known by most hospitals that would be dealing with these little ones on a regular basis. It may take a while to get your business well known for offering these hard to find items, but be patient and watch as your company grows.

This type of company might do well on the Web. You might give thought to opening your business on-line, offering preemie items to people all over the world. Many times when people have trouble finding needed items in their own communities they will turn to the Internet for them. Make these hard to find items available and easy to find and you could have a booming business on your hands.

This would be a great idea for people that are looking for a gift idea also. Most times when a baby is born, friends and family want to help the couple celebrate the birth of their new little one. It is much easier to find cute little outfits for newborns and older, but there is very little to choose from for preemies, if anything. Parents of preemies need encouragement and positive feedback from their friends and families. Knowing that you are behind them with positive feelings about the outcome of their new little one, can mean more than just what words can convey.

If you are not sure about all the items to offer for these babies, you could always interview pediatric nurses that take care of preemies, they may be able to help you fill some needs that they have experienced already. They should be quite willing to help you so that their babies can go home with all the needed items required for the parents to take care of them.

Pedicure on Wheels

Offer a service to people to come into their home to do pedicures for them. Some target markets might be pregnant women, those who cannot take care of their own feet, those who would rather have it done in their home and any others. A good selling point is that we often take care of our bodies well but often forget to take care of our feet. You could charge $50 for a soak, un-roughen, clip, shape, and polish.

You will need pedicure supplies, such as a foot soaking tub, emery boards, pumice stones, foot files, toenail clippers, Epsom salts, and an assortment of nail polish colors. Having a great personality and a good people-person will help a lot.

Doesn’t this sound like a wonderful job to have? Who could turn down a pedicure service offered in the comfort of their home? I think it would be a-dream-come true for me. I can think of many friends that I would love to give this service to as a gift too. You probably have those friends that have everything too, what a great gift idea. No one can have too many pedicures!

Another target market could be for pregnant women, at one point it gets so hard to reach their feet to put shoes on, let alone give themselves a pedicure. When pregnant the feet and ankles take a lot of stress too, even more reason that they would appreciate this service. Then there are the elderly and those that might be disabled also that might have trouble taking care of their feet. More importantly there are the ones that would love having this service offered in the comfort of their homes.

Your first investment would include all of the pedicure supplies that you would need; such as a foot soaking tub, emery boards, pumice stones, foot files, toenail clippers, Epsom salts, and a full assortment of nail polish colors. (Some customers might also prefer that you use their own supplies too, offer to do this if they prefer. I know that I would prefer using my own supplies, because I have a fear of other people’s germs.)

Something that you should always stress is that you sterilize all of the utensils that you use with your customers. When it comes to items like emery boards and pumice stones, you may have to buy one for each customer and keep them in a container that has their personal name on it, so that you use them only on one customer. Also, check your area and find out what the local laws are for businesses offering your services.

This would also require a reliable source of transportation. In a large city, that offers a good bus service, a bus may be all that you will need to run your business, plus a large container or suitcase on wheels that you can carry your supplies in from one home to another. If you can afford it, a vehicle to get to your customers homes would be good too. If you have to drive, or travel, a lengthy amount of miles for some of your customers, you could require an additional fee for the added expense and your time for the trip.

As for how much to charge for your service, check your area and find out how much salons charge for a pedicure in your area. This can vary quite a bit, but remember that you are offering to come to their home for this service. Try to charge at least $50 for a soak, un-roughen, clip, shape, and polish. You could charge $10 extra for a massage if they would like one too.

This could prove to be a very good business for the right person. If you like giving pedicures, have a relaxing personality, and are a people-person this could prove to be a lucrative business idea for you!

Popcorn on the Cob

Popcorn on the Cob

Eating is a pastime most people enjoy; whatever the occasion, whatever the season; people are always ready to eat. People not only like fast foods and multi-cuisine, there are snacks that people like and appreciate; more so in fairs and circuses. So providing some snacks to people in fairs and circuses proves to be a great business, and one worth adapting.

Instead of offering the normal snacks like hot dogs, chips and burgers, try something novel like popcorn on the cob. Of course, popcorn is often eaten buttered, sweetened, salted, cheesed, and other popular flavors added. But, why not offer something else; like popcorn on the cob. This is a great idea from the past; people will be willing to try it out, in curiosity, to find out what it is like.

It was many ages back that Native Americans popped and ate popcorn on the cob - and it was eaten directly from the cob. This is a wonderful taste; you could add some butter, salt, pepper, chili powder, lime; the choice is limitless to offer your customers a little something extra with their popcorn on the cob.

Of course, you cannot offer popcorn on the cob wherever you want; offer it in open public places, as you have to cook the corn on a stove or charcoal pit. You do not need a huge investment for this venture; it is best to have a charcoal pit; as the taste is better this way and it is cheaper to prepare it. If this is not possible, then of course you will need a stove or other medium to fry the corn directly on the cob. There is no need to have any dishes; you can have paper plates to give your customers their corn on the cob. Then of course, you need some spices to add to the corn to enhance the taste too.

Because corn is a nutritious, fragrant, and tasty food, most people love eating it. It provides the necessary fiber a person needs, and is nutritious too. Moreover, eating popcorn on the cob provides a measure of exercise to the jaws and teeth. In fact, people with false or weak teeth should not eat popcorn on the cob, as it may be rather difficult for them to eat!

Unlike other businesses, there is no need of any marketing or advertisement for this job. This opportunity flourishes through word of mouth, smell, and sight. There is bound to be many curious onlookers and others following their noses to the wonderful fragrance of the corn popping. You could print a few pamphlets, and place them in strategic places of the fair or circus, so that people visiting these amusements will be aware of your stall and unusual item to offer.

Maintain the best hygiene and cleanliness in your business. As this is an open-air business, if you do not offer clean surroundings, you will only lose customers. Make sure you place your stall in a clean area too, where there are not many insects or pests to disturb you.

Be prepared to be a very popular stand no matter where you set up. The wonderful fragrance of the corn cooking will draw people to you!

PC & Video Games - Buy Cheaply on EBay - Sell at a Profit on Amazon

The power of selling on eBay is well known. There are markets for just about everything. Usually we only buy on eBay for pleasure, convenience, or to enable our online business to run smoothly - jiffy bags or other supplies, for example. However, eBay is an excellent source of cheap merchandise that can be sold on, through other online and real world marketplaces.

One of the best markets is PC and video games. People all over the world are upgrading to new platforms, switching their PlayStations for X-Boxes, GameCubes for PlayStation 2’s. Many of these sellers are selling their old games in bulk on eBay to put towards new games.

Great bundles of between five and ten games can be bought reasonably cheaper on eBay. Look for games that have been looked after and are described as in good condition. The platform doesn’t matter too much, but does dictate what price you can expect to get paid. X-box, PS2, and new PC games are likely to command a higher price individually when you present them on your alternative marketplace.

Amazon! While items can be listed for as long as ten days on eBay, Amazon allows listings of 60 days. This obviously gives you a much longer period to list items and attract attention from a wider audience. There is one small downside in that you can only list items that Amazon already lists, because as an Amazon seller you are offering an alternative to the full price listed items.

You can register as a seller with Amazon (link: www.amazon.com) whether you have a standard buyers account or not. As with all markets it pays to do some research, so have a look at a sample of games listed on eBay that are due to end midweek (many auctions on eBay close at lower prices midweek than on weekends, simply due to the lower number of potential bidders with time to spend online during the week). Compare the prices of these auctions to identical products on Amazon.

Spend some time watching the prices of PC and video games on eBay. Daily there are bulk lots of 5-20 games available that can all be realistically sold on Amazon with the correct description details and seller promises.

Amazon isn’t the only market for reselling PC and Video games; your local bricks and mortar computer games or rental store may well have a policy of buying games for credit notes or even cash, although you can be sure they’ll offer more by way of credit in their shop. You could even put this credit towards a new release that is guaranteed to attract buyers on Amazon or eBay!

Remember your Amazon buyers also have the option of leaving feedback on your conduct, so maintain your good reputation as an online trader by treating everyone you do business with the utmost respect.

Pedaling Your Way to Profits

Pedaling Your Way to Profits

Pedal cars look just like child size vehicles, only they have no engine; you have to pedal them like a tricycle or bike. Children love to play with these pretend cars, trucks, airplanes and more. Start your own business by selling these popular pedal cars. Get them straight from the manufacturer and you can make a good profit.

I have never met a child that wasn’t excited to play with these toy cars. What makes them so special is that they are sturdy like a bike and they are usually made of metal just like an adult size car. They also come in many forms such as; fire trucks, taxis, sports cars, airplanes, and many more designs. Most of the designs are similar to older model vehicles, but not always.

You might be saying to yourself, “Why would people spend the money on something like this, when battery operated cars cost just about the same amount of money?” This is a good question. Many baby boomers are reaching the age of Grandparents now and they have fond memories of these fun toys that were very popular in the 40s and 50s. Often times when they were young, they could only look at them admiringly from afar, because they were a bit more expensive than a simple bike then. If aware they even exist now, parents and grandparents would love to purchase them as gifts for their children and grandchildren.

The appeal of these pedal cars is that they look similar to adult size vehicles. Children love to pretend that they are driving cars, and these little cars have steering wheels and four tires and they are just so cute. Parents like the idea that they are very hard to tip over like a typical Bike or Trike and their children get healthy exercise, pedaling all over while enjoying them.

Wouldn’t this be an enjoyable niche marketing idea for you? Toys always sell very well and this is something that you don’t see a lot of in stores these days, especially well made pedal cars. Opening a well-stocked Web store would be a great way to sell them too. You can contact the wholesale makers and distributors, and most of them are happy to drop-ship the pedal cars to your customers. They are usually more than happy to offer good warranties on their cars too. These little cars are quite sturdy and made to last many years if well maintained. Make sure that you offer parts for them too, just like bikes they can have parts wear out on them too, after years of constant use. Some parents might even want to make their child’s pedal car unique by adding some special bells and whistles for them too!

If you decide to sell these online, make sure that you keep up with all of your sources on what is in stock and available on a regular basis. Provide clear large pictures for your customers and as much information about the cars and any guarantees that come with their purchases, also make your Web store easy to order through. It is a good idea also to provide an 800 number, just in case your customers want to call and ask questions or they may prefer to place orders this way, instead of on the Internet.

You will probably notice that some parts of the year you will have more sales than others have, just like for bikes. During the end-of-year Holidays and when the Spring season comes around expect to have a lot more business.
